SENZA MARE
Photobook
A journey through the traditions and costumes of inland Sardinia
Developed over four years, it was born out of a desire to describe the uniqueness of the Sardinian territory and the deep attachment of its people to age-old rites. It is a visual archive of a deeply Sardinian aesthetic as well as a journey of discovery that enabled the photographer to re-connect with her own roots, being of Sardinian descent on her mother’s side.
The book is divided into two parts, dedicated respectively to Barbagia’s main Carnival figures and to the traditional female attire, which gives the photographer the chance to investigate the fierceness and strength of Sardinian women.
Foreword by Paolo Fresu.
